You've Got A Friend In Me - Forever

I've been thinking about friendship today.  My own friendships.  My children's friendships.  My student's friendships.  They are so important!  I've been trying to put my words down on paper this evening and I can't seem to get my thoughts out very well.  They just aren't coming together.  But I've had a song in my head today that feels just right.  It might not be my own words today, but it's important to say anyway.

You've Got A Friend In Me (from Toy Story)

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
When the road looks rough ahead
And you're miles and miles
From your nice warm bed
Just remember what your old pal said
Boy, you've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got troubles, well I've got 'em too
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you
We stick together and we see it through
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me

Some other folks might be
A little bit smarter than I am
Bigger and stronger too
Maybe
But none of them will ever love you the way I do
It's me and you
And as the years go by
Our friendship will never die
You're gonna see
It's our destiny
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me

  2. How appropriate as we are ready to take on the challenge and need the support of our slicing friends to keep us going. I treasure these connections that I've made through this community. See you Friday?

  3. I like that you borrowed these words today. Those Toy Story characters have it just right! :) This put a smile on my face.

  5. I've been thinking about friendship a lot this year. Like you, I'm just not able to get the words to behave on the page long enough to write about it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and the song.
